Haven’t written much these past couple of weeks. Mostly because work has been a whirlwind, but also because I’m already in the clutches of SAD (seasonal affective disorder). The coming time change won’t be any help with that. As usual, I’ll push through. Eke out a few words here and there, making very little progress until one day I do. And I always do.
Another complication: I’ve been dying to work on my novel. I’ve spent most of my time maladaptive daydreaming on it rather than on Pirates. I wish I could do all the things all at once. I often wonder — do most writers struggle with their WIPs? Or are most of my writing issues related to my ADHD? It’s either hyperfocus or nothing, and I find that terribly frustrating.
I’m just over 7800 words into the next chapter of Pirates. There are two big scenes I have yet to write, and the rest is maintenance. Tightening things up. I have a feeling this will be another 15K chapter when all is said and done.
